Explained: The Impeachment Process.

The media is throwing around the terms to impeach Donald Trump a lot recently.

With the current president claiming that neo-nazis are on the same moral level as anti racism protestors and many more scandals, there are reasonable arguments to impeach Trump. He's colluded with Russian officials, given away confidential secrets from Isreal, and made too many mistakes.

Trump is said to be unfit to be president, and people are angry. People want to impeach him. But what are the steps to impeachment, and how would this play out? How does impeachment work?

The first step of impeachment would happen in the House Of Representatives. Any member is allowed to bring up a resolution for impeachment, which many have done but failed. Next, the House Judiciary Committee will vote on that resolution. A majority must vote in favour of the resolution, or the motion will not move on.

Then, the full House Of Representatives will vote if they should impeach. If a majority votes to do so, the president will be impeached. But there's a catch.

It doesn't mean they will get kicked out of the White House. The senate will vote if they lose their presidency. 67% of those senators must be in favour to impeach. This is the part that has never happened before.

Bill Clinton was impeached, but he lacked the 67% of votes from the Senate.

That's how impeachment will work if Donald Trump takes another wrong step.
